After taking the weekend to consider offers from the Seahawks and Cowboys, along with the possibility of retirement, Jared Allen has come to a decision. Reports are he has agreed to terms with the Chicago Bears. Kind of a surprise, but there is almost always a mystery team that swoops in at the last minute. Word on the street is the Hawks were offering
a deal in the range of 2 years, 12 million… and the Bears gave him 4 years and over 32 million. While I am bummed he will not be a Seahawk, I am glad they didn’t get suckered into a bidding war for a 32 year old defensive end. Our offer was more in line with what I believe his value will be, but you can’t blame a guy for taking all that cash if someone is willing to overpay.
Disappointing yes, but I would much rather save the cash and re-sign Thomas, Sherman, and Wilson. If all that is even possible.
Yes, let move on. GO HAWKS !
