Kathi Goertzen Dies After Battle With Tumors

Kathi Goertzen has passed away today after her long battle with brain tumors. Since her diagnosis in 1998, Kathi has been an inspiration to everyone around her. She is survived by her husband, Rick Jewett, and two daughters, Alexa and Aandrea.

Sometimes we all lose sight in what is important. On a day like today, we are reminded that sports are just a small part of our life. As we try to join the Northwest sports media market, we must take this time away from blogging about the local team to remember a Seattle media icon. Take a few minutes out of your day today to make sure your family knows you love them!

“There’s only one way to take life now and that’s one day at a time, and it’s funny when you stop planning and planning and try to decided what you’re going to do next, how each day becomes more beautiful.” – Kathi Goertzen 1958-2012
