Following tonight’s victory during the post game show news came down that two Mariners had been traded, in separate deals. Brandon League rumors have been swirling around sports blogs and websites a lot over the last week, and really picked up in intensity yesterday. We knew League would probably be traded, but Steve Delabar was kind of a surprise. Here is a peek at the guys we got.

Delabar heads across to the other dugout for tomorrows matchup, and the Blue Jays will send  Outfielder, Eric Thames back over to the Mariners. Thames is 25, and not eligible for free agency until the 2018 season. He has appeared in 46 games for Toronto this season with a .243 average and 3 HR. Report on Thames is he is an okay fielder, okay speed, above average power.

League will be heading to the Dodgers, and we got back 2 Single A prospects, 22-year-old Outfielder Leon Landry and 23-year-old Closer Logan Bawcom. Landry is a freak of an athlete. His highschool resume includes 3-time All League honors as Pitcher/Infielder for the baseball team, Lettered 4 years on football team as QB/RB/WR/CB, and also was a Shooting Guard and Captain of the basketball team. Baseball America named Landry #1 prospect in Cal Ripken Sr. League in 2008, and was drafted out of LSU by the Dodgers in the 3rd Round of the 2010 draft. Landry is regarded as high as 9th overall prospect for LA and the best defensive outfielder in their system. Landry is hitting .328, 8 HR’s and 15 Triples… yes really, I looked up the milb stats myself to verify, like I said, this guy is Jimmy Johns Freaky Fast!

Logan Bawcom, ranks just outside the Dodgers top 20 prospect list.  He has an impressive stat line, 2.03 era – 20 saves – 11.1 k/9! Logan is only 23 years old and the Dodgers had projected him as a fast mover through the minor league system, eta was middle of next season.
